Today in South Florida. Stormy but still sunny.
Two days ago, is was raining but the sun managed to shine on and off.
Today, I took the children--my grandchildren are here for two weeks--to the pool. It was a gorgeous day, sunny and warm, but at 11:30 am a black clud appeared on the east over the ocean and rapidly moved inland. We just had enough time to rush out of the pool, shower, dry and collect our things. The rain caught up with us while we were running to the building door. From my apartment we watched the rain pelt the windows and whitecaps burst on the ocean.
The supermarkets are bustling with a crowd eager to stock on water and non-perishable food as the TV announces that tropical storm Isaac is heading toward Fort Lauderdale. No one here can forget Hurricane Wilma and the damage it caused in 2005.
The problem is that I have my grandchildren here and I don't want them exposed to nature fury. I am not sure if we will stay or drive north to escape the storm.

Love the picture, Mona. Have a great day! Dare to dream.
Oh, wow, Mona. Stay safe. I hope the little ones don't become frightened...but it is a fact of life. Keep us posted if you can.
Dawn, I love this picture and used as my header in FB.
Hi Celia, we are hooked to the weather channel. If it clears for an hour today, J. has asked to jump in the pool "for only a few minutes, Nonna." We went to Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast, and then Target to buy Legos. Still the day is long for 6 and 8 years old in vacation.
Stay safe. When we had a tornado warning here, my nephew and I made of game of going down to the basement to wait it out. He pointed out that if the local weather station is breaking for commercials "it can't be too bad." LOL
Mona, you're pictures are gorgeous. Stay safe. I remember going out when I was younger to Dunkin Donuts. It was a real treat. We don't have DD in CA. The closest place with DD is Las Vegas. I really miss Dunkin.
I know it's hard to keep the kiddos entertained. Even indoors. Let us know how you hold up. You're in my thoughts.
Smiles
Steph
Hi Keena, somehow we survived the storm and the claustrophobia, and today it was back to the pool for the kids.
Hi Steph, looking at the ocean so blue and beautiful one would never guess it was so dark two days ago. We lost a window screen to the wind, but it's okay.
How can the kids live without DD? LOL
