St. John

Our third stop was at St. Thomas, an island well-known for the shopping of jewlry and liquors that are tax-free and at bargain prices. We bypassed the shopping, rented a taxi and went straight to the ferry for St. John Island.
A local taxi drove us to Trunk Bay -

The most renown beach on the islands, and probably in the Caribbean.

Certainly the most photographed and printed beach in the island magazines.
This is probably due to its picture perfect view from North Shore Road.

Notice the soft golden sand of Turk Bay beach.

We spent a lovely day swimming and playing with my grandchildren.

And then it was time to leave that piece of paradise and return to the ship.

Oh Mona, that was so wonderful. Right now, Boise is snowed in and more snow on the way. I can only wish to be someplace so warm and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

AWESOME!

I sent your link to my friend, who emailed me the link to St. M's site. I seriously need to start saving my pennies for a trip to the Caribbean!

Makes me 'homesick' for St. Pete Beach, Fla...

Mona, what a beautiful island. The one beach shot is worth a 1000 commericals. My favorite? You playing in the water with the grandkids. Those are times to treasure. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Lovely pictures. I see you've enjoyed another great cruise. I am considering one over Christmas, if I can talk the DH into doing it. We love to cruise with MSC and they have a Caribbean cruise on special right now. If I could talk the DH into an inside cabin I could easily swing it, but he loves the balcony! Still, I want to, I want to, I want to go!

Those pictures are so far removed from what we are experiencing right now in Illinois! They are gorgeous!

Very cold with snow coming again, this afternoon or tonight.
